Russian watchdog finds Google guilty of violating antitrust law

MOSCOW, Feb 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has found Google guilty of violation of the antitrust law because the company has vague rules of blocking content on its video hosting YouTube, and will define the fine later, the watchdog said on Thursday in a statement.

“The service found that the rules related to the formation, suspension, blocking of accounts and circulation of user content on YouTube are opaque, biased and unpredictable. It triggers unexpected blocking and deletion of user accounts without warning or explanation,” the statement read.

“The Federal Antimonopoly Service rules that such behavior hurts users’ interests and restricts market competition. The fine for the company will be sized during an administrative investigation.”
